In collaboration with Aurélie Pertusot
Project of musical writings, performances and installations based exclusively on the use of alarms and sounds from our electronic and mechanical alarm clocks’ collection. The alarm clock is an outdated and utilitarian object. It’s a witness of a lifestyle : symbol of the work, duty to wake up early each morning. Our performances change the perception of these alarms, considered usually as an unpleasant and aggressive noise, in every case, as a call to order. We began with in situ projects in reaction to places (displacement of private sounds in public space, sound analogies in a garden between natural and electronic sounds etc.) We then explored the sound diversity our alarms collection and developed musical writings shown mostly in the form of concert-performances.
